This week my mom and dad packed up the rest of our things to get ready for the big move. We have a big pantry where we keep all our food and there was lots of stuff my mom didn’t want to have to pack. I told her we should give some of the food away since we weren’t going to eat it. She thought that was a great idea.
We packed up all kinds of food like canned veggies, pasta, flour and sugar and soup. I helped mom carry it into the car and we drove to the food bank. The people at the food bank were very nice and thanked us for bringing all our extra stuff to help feed people who don’t have as much as we do.
I was happy that we helped people and gave them something to eat! It was a good way to “recycle” the things we weren’t bringing with us to the new house.
