20,000 Reasons to Put Your Green Idea Into Action

SunChips and National Geographic recently started an initiative called the Green Effect in an effort to inspire eco-conscious entrepreneurs to spark green movements in their communities.

Just visit the link and submit a description of your Green Effect idea by June 8, 2009 in order to be eligible to win $20,000. According to the website, ten finalists will be chosen from a combination of online viewer ratings and a distinguished panel of judges chosen by National Geographic.

The two sponsors will then award $20,000 each to five people or groups that have the best ideas for green change. The five winners will also be profiled in National Geographic, and the winners will travel to Washington, D.C., to share their projects with environmental leaders.

While money shouldn’t be the motivating factor for residents of earth to keep their home clean, Sun Chips and National Geographic deserve a lot of credit for fronting this much inspirational green.
