Another small step for avoiding bottled water…

We’ve already talked about how avoiding bottled water is one step we can take towards a greener life and I know a lot of people who use a Brita water filter to help keep their water clean, but weren’t sure what to do when it was time to replace them.

Starting in January, household product maker Recycline will start accepting used Brita’s and other plastic marked number 5 — polypropylene plastic — to be recycled into toothbrushes, cutting boards, mixing bowls and more.

Their Gimme 5 Program accepts this plastic through the mail, and starting in January will have drop-off bins at Whole Foods Markets.
