The work is well underway for the new “green” bath house at Salty Brine State Beach in Narragansett, RI.
The two-level, 2,478-square-foot bath house will get all of its energy for lighting, fans and hot water from the small wind turbine and solar hot water heaters on the roof that are currently being built. The building will also incorporate improved insulation, energy efficient lighting fixtures and low flow plumbing fixtures. With a cost of 1.8 million funded by state capital funds and the National Park Service Land and Water Conservation, the project is trageted to be completed by Memorial Day Weekend (our official first weekend of summer) 2010.
