I’m all for going green and i support it fully. I’m also in support of cost savings as well. How much more money do you estimate it costs to implement all of the green attributes to the house project as opposed to a similar sized, traditional house?

I’ve been interested in taxations for longer then I care to admit, both on the personal side (all my working life!!) and from a legal viewpoint since passing the bar and pursuing tax law. I’ve put up a lot of advice and righted a lot of wrongs, and I must say that what you’ve posted makes complete sense. Please continue the good work – the more people know the better they’ll be armed to handle with the tax man, and that’s what it’s all about.

Good article, but I can’t find the link to Dr. Rowbottom’s whitepaper and the LEED spreadsheet is hard to find on the Lutron site.

Can you provide links to both?

Note that tankless water heaters may be a good alternative for businesses as well as homes. Pubs, Restaurants, Hotels, Motels, and more, all use TWH’s for the very large cost savings, being able to expense or depreciate the up-front costs. So if you have an in-home business, or you just want to make points with your boss by cutting expenses, keep that in mind.

Oh shoot! I want me one of those microwaves with a toaster. I think that would be SO effective. And I definitely agree with Leigh. Mine is just as great, maybe even better – it has an air purifier in it as well!

There is a lot of truth to this. I bought a portable air conditioner that also had a heater function and I love it. I can use it all year round. I wonder what other cool appliance combinations there are that I haven’t even thought of before.
