Creating a logo that says “Green” and “Smart”

Posted on November 19, 2008 by castercomm

Starting a company is hard work. Really really hard. The funding, time, resources, knowledge and tools you need is an ever populating list.

I came up with the idea for Green Life Smart Life after spending the past three years managing the PR and marketing activities on various show homes such as the Innoventions Dream Home at Disneyland, NextGen, The New American Home, Wired: Smart + Green, etc. In all of them, more than half of the products were either unaffordable or unavailable for today’s homeowner, and only the Wired home even touched upon environmentally preferable products and building practices.

Joe and I bought a house in September 2005 that was determined to be unsalvageable, and the house has sat empty until this project idea came along. What started as a PR project we were going to use as a case study for Caster has taken on so much momentum that we decided to create a company that supplies marketing and PR services to organizations looking to message “green” with a special focus around green home building, showcase homes and smart technology.

To date we’ve created the logo which I love. The power sprout as it has affectionately come to be know is a graphic interpretation of green and smart; and integrates all the colors of earth and water to reflect the perspective of the project. The final elements of the launch are coming in the next 2 weeks. So stand by!

Tell me what you think…
